Gus Hansen Biggest Winner of the Day

September 17, 2009

Gus “The Great Dane” Hansen have been having a terrible downswing playing online poker this year. But after a long session yesterday it seems like he might be turning it around after ending up the biggest winner at Full Tilt Poker over the last 24 hours. What makes this a great achievment is the fact that he recently went down in stakes from his usual $300/$600 level to $200/$400 where he was playing pot limit Omaha.

After having played 1701 hands Gus Hansen ended up making a profit of $321.217. Brian Hastings and Urindanger were the two players that contributed with the most money towards Gus’s great win. But the biggest pot of the day was played against Cole South in which Gus flopped three of a kind and slow played it to get as much money in the pot as possible, the pot ended up at $110.000.

It wasn’t long ago that we reported about Gus Hansen’s huge downswing this year so it will be very interesting to follow him at the high stakes tables from now on and see if he will keep his winning trend that he just started.

Suspected Cheating Scandal at Pitbull Poker

September 16, 2009

There has been a lot of talk about a cheating scandal involving “super user accounts” at Pitbull Poker lately. Since the accusations started the staff at Pitbull Poker have stopped replying to customers emails and they are no longer sending out any hand histories to their players. And to top it off there have been a lot of cashout problems lately after Pitbull Poker decided to cap the payout requests at $100 per account.

Pitbull Poker is a tiny poker network in the online poker business and they are now being accused of having a couple of super user accounts playing on their sites. For those of you who are not familiar with super user accounts we can tell you that these accounts are said to have the ability to see all the hole cards of the opponents at the poker table. Since the rumours started about this scandal Pitbull Poker have been avoiding the media which makes the whole situation very suspicious.

Since the people behind PitbullPoker.com haven’t done anything to stop the speculations by providing hand history to their players or making a public statment on one of the poker news sites the traffic at the flash based poker site has gone down drastically. This is probably why they have deicided to cap the payout requests at $100 per account.

The players who were called out as “super users” are no longer playing on the site but some people claim they are still playing, just under different screen names.

We will bring you updates on this scandal as more information is made available to us.

Children’s Inheritance managed by mother for Gambling use

September 13, 2009

It had been reported that an Australian woman; a mother from Canberra has been accused of stealing more than $500,000 out of her children’s inheritance. The accused, Katherine Hawcroft, of Latham in the north of Canberra, then proceeded to lose most of this amount by playing the pokies machines.

The woman denies these accusations but will face the ACT Supreme Court today after being charged with a full 229 counts of theft. The money is said to be taken from her three children and two nieces and the court claim they heard that she was entrusted to manage an investment property in the children’s name.

This trust management was meant to last until the youngest one of them turned 25 in 2011 but she supposedly sold the said property in secret back in 2000 and spent the income made. This property was previously owned by her deceased parents and she allegedly spent $523,000 when playing the pokies at two clubs in Canberra during the period November 2000 till April 2003.

This amounts to the majority of the children’s money. During a pre-court hearing, the 229 accusation counts were read out individually and Hawcroft pled as not guilty to all of them.

Is Lady Gaga a Hermaphrodite?

September 13, 2009

During a press conference, a German reporter from Berlin was told to leave after he questioned Lady Gaga if she has any male gender anatomy. In a cool and relaxed manner, GaGa replied “My beautiful vagina is offended.”

Internet rumours started out this questioning of gender and the issue has been mentioned often lately with online gambling sites such as Paddy Power, posting gambling odds on her sex.

The rumours started out after a video footage of Lady GaGa while onstage in Glastonbury this year when she allegedly appeared flashing something peculiar underneath her dress. Since then, many have brought up doubts and questions about the pop star having both gender organs.

Lady Gaga is due to win a lot of awards at the MTV Video Music Awards tonight with her song “Poker Face“. You can read more about that in this article.

This is the video that started the rumors a while back.

Do you think Lady Gaga is a male, female or both? Feel free to leave your comments below.

VMA’s show said to be taken by storm with Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”

September 12, 2009

Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” the chart topper hit has been nominated for many music awards at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards that will take place this Sunday on MTV. The Poker Face song is taken from GaGa’s debut album The Fame.

One of these awards is the Video of the Year award with many aspiring to get the award by showing off sexy poses and bodies. The video was also famous for the MTV forced omission of the word muffin, as this was originally present in the original lyrics and then omitted due its offensive meaning.

Lady Gaga is definitely one of these artists who go overboard; predominantly with her over the top videos and sexy outfits. Sexy and elaborate dance moves that might come across as forced. Ms. GaGa might go over the top during video production but no one can deny her excellent voice and live acoustic performances.

On the other hand, fellow nominee Beyonce with her song “Single Ladies” gives off a natural sex appeal, onstage and on video. Both artists are heavily nominated artists this year and will battle it out on the final night for the big award.

The show will be pod casted on MTV as per annual schedule.

Isabelle Mercier kicked out of Team PokerStars?

September 11, 2009

During EPT Barcelona it was announced that Isabelle Mercier no longer represents PokerStars as a member of Team PokerStars. It is still unclear if she got kicked off the team or if she quit herself.

It was during the European Poker Tour event in Barcelona that a live commentator “leaked” the information that Mercier was no longer a part of Team PokerStars.

Since the poker sites do not want to give out information regarding the contracts they have with the players we will probably never really get to know the reason behind this seperation.

It will be interesting to see where Mercier will end up next. It could be that she goes straight over to the main competitor Full Tilt Poker as a member of Team FullTilt.
